From research to reality: Crafting an image of the current state of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies for substance use disorders

This editorial looks at five relevant articles, commenting: "Papier-mâché is a substance consisting of paper mixed with some type of glue, the combination of which can then be molded into something else. This editorial introduces five articles published in the current issue of the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs (JSAD) that were originally presented at a 2022 international conference on psychedelics, titled “From Research to Reality: Global Summit on Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Medicine” (also called “R2R” [fromresearchtoreality.com]; Toronto, Canada). Using the conference experience as the glue, we will attempt to mold these articles into an image of the current state of psychedelic research, one of the most interesting and potentially important areas in addiction science."
